The room is dim. There are just a few of us remaining for the final moment. You can hear the whispers of nervous conversation as we all prepare for my mother-in-law to make her final journey to be in the arms of Jesus.
She has fought a valiant fight, but in the end the dreaded disease of cancer will once again win another round. It has been hard to watch this disease take its toll on her. You wonder, what’s the purpose, what’s the meaning of it all.
She was one that was never short on conversation. She was never short on words. But tonight as I sit here I realize the conversation will be over and tonight will be a silent night.
Our loss is Heaven’s gain.
